Lets learn about vegetables
This vegetable word worksheet has seven numbered picture cards, each with a smiling vegetable and its name printed with a letter or two missing: carrot, broccoli, tomato, potato, peas, corn and cucumber. The blanks appear as underscores, as in C_RROT and PO_ATO, under the heading "Fill in the blanks."
Children look at each picture, sound out the word and write the missing letters in the gaps. It's early spelling and phonics practice for kindergarten and first grade, and it builds vocabulary for naming common vegetables. Use it as morning work, a literacy center or a warm-up for a healthy eating lesson.
A different set of vegetables, including onion and capsicum, is on Fun Vegetable Names: Fill in the Blanks, which also has name and date lines.
